Check out how we support young women touched by foster care!
Bessie’s Angels is a nonprofit organization, with a mission to nurture, empower, educate and to provide low-income housing to young women touched by the foster care system. Most of the young women we serve are low income. Many live below the poverty line. Our homes warm and welcoming. We are asking 100 local businesses and organizations to help us fulfill our mission. Your pledge of support is more important than ever before. As we are a trusted organization in the community, your involvement would help highlight the importance of recognizing the housing needs of young ladies aging out of the foster care system. Your donation/sponsorship will support our monthly workshops, health care, communication (digital divide) and others immediate needs. These workshops focus on financial literacy, life & employability skills/employment retention and life skills. Events and programs like these can provide the encouragement the community needs to continue to keep impacting the lives of not just the young ladies we serve. Together our efforts can impact entire families, neighborhoods and even employers. Many of us cannot imagine not having a place to call home. We cannot imagine frequent movement from house to house or imagine waking up one day and losing the family we had once relied upon. Just a little help can make a world of difference in these young lives. “Every child deserves a champion.” Your organization can champion this cause. The attached page provides information detailing the various levels of support. Sincerely, Tonya Perkins-Stoudermire

The virtual walk/run goal is to get outside and have fun while we raise funds to open a third “Bessie’s Place” house in cooperation with the Cleveland Land Bank. The house will provide young women who have aged out of foster care a safe place to live. All proceeds from your ticket benefit our organization by helping meet immediate needs of young women.
